Once your new tattoo is finished, your artist will apply a dermal wrap.
This dermal wrap is designed to protect your arm and acts as another layer of skin, which will trick your body into believing there is no damage caused by the tattoo.
The healing process will begin from the lower portions of your dermis and continue upwards with the dermal wrap on. This is vital in the aftercare process.
The dermal wrap must be left on for a period between 8 - 24 hours minimum.
You can still wash and bathe with the dermal wrap applied.
After the minimum time has elapsed and it comes to removing your dermal wrap, start from one top corner and roll the wrap down, running water over the area will help this process.
Do NOT try to tear or rip the dermal wrap off as the adhesive is attached to your skin.
The dermal wrap will naturally pull away any plasma, dead skin and bacteria from the tattooed area.
After your dermal wrap has been taken off, you can now pat the area dry and then leave to air dry for 30-40 minutes.
After the area is completely dry, you can apply our new tattoo cream only need to apply a small amount to cover the whole tattoo. (A blob roughly the size of a cotton swab head is enough to cover one side of the forearm for reference.)
If anyone or any other artist suggests to you an alternative way of healing. Please contact us and ask for guidance again as we are the ones qualified to do so. We want the best for your health and your tattoo!
Each artist has their own way of promoting aftercare of the tattoos they have done and have found what works for them. Always listen to the artist that has done the tattoo for you for the best heal.
After having the barrier cream applied for roughly 6-8 hours, wash the area again and repeat the drying process (Pat dry then air dry for 30-40 minutes). Before applying another layer of barrier cream. (Refer to step 2 again)
Repeat Step 3 for 3-4 days maximum, until fully healed after your tattoo.
